Discover the ECO-merce project !
Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union,
it is coordinated by FH Münster University of Applied Sciences
and runs from October 2025 until July 2028.
What is ECO-merce ?
ECO-merce empowers agri-food actors to leverage sustainability as a market advantage in e-commerce by aligning consumer values, digital skills, and sustainable business practices. By integrating sustainable marketing into VET and industry training, it bridges the gap between consumer expectations and capabilities. Through a value-driven skills framework, digital training, and strategic roadmaps, the project fosters transparent, engaging and value-driven e-commerce practices.

Why ECO-merce ?
Today’s consumers are looking for more than just products — they want to understand the story behind them. At the same time, many agri-food actors face challenges in communicating their sustainability efforts and using digital tools effectively. ECO-merce addresses this challenge by combining sustainability, digital skills, and marketing strategies into one comprehensive approach.
What we do ?
ECO-merce develops practical tools, trainings, and collaborative solutions to help agri-food actors successfully combine sustainability, digitalisation, and e-commerce. To do so, we are implementing the following :
-
Identify key skills gaps and market needs in sustainable e-commerce
-
Develop a value-driven skills framework aligned with consumer expectations
-
Create practical training modules for agri-food professionals and educators
-
Will launch the ECO-merce Academy, a free and interactive e-learning platform
-
Support businesses through co-creation workshops and strategic roadmaps
-
Build a strong European community through events, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
Our impact
By empowering stakeholders with future-ready skills, ECO-merce contributes to a more sustainable, transparent, and competitive agri-food sector across Europe :
-
For businesses: increased competitiveness and stronger customer trust
-
For educators: innovative training resources aligned with real market needs
-
For consumers: better access to transparent and sustainable food choices
-
For society: contribution to more sustainable food systems and responsible consumption

Whether you are an agri-food professional, trainer, or stakeholder, ECO-merce invites you to be part of the transition toward a more sustainable and digital future.
